Corporate Hospitals in India

The Govt of India medical policy should change as the Private Hospitals are exploiting the policy of
insurance as well as reimbursement of medical treatment .The patients also are taking the advantage
of the policy and joining the private hospitals for treatment and getting the benefit.

We had an experience in Care Hospital, Hyderabad as one of our relative has been admitted in the
hospital due to chest pain. Doctors conducted angeogram and confirmed that there are 3 blocks in the
vicinity of heart . They decided to conduct 3 stents in the blocks and given an estimate 1.90 lacs

They started the operation and informed us they could insert only one stent as the patient condition
does not permit for balance 2 stents. We could do only one thing in the operation that we could
make them insert better quality stent instead of cheap stents which they have planned. The Doctors
informed that they will check the patient after 10 days for taking decision on balance insertion of Stents.
They have adjusted the amount in charges and given a letter that again an estimation need to be given
for balance treatment.
This is clear indication that private hospitals are minting on the policies of Govt and we find so many
Govt Doctors are opting for joining Private Hospitals .

In this connection i request the Govt of India to make an audit on all Corporate Hospitals on the
quality of treatment and charges and fix minimum charges within the jurisdiction . At the same time
they should improve the conditions of Govt hospitals with better amenities and appointing good
doctors so that the people opt to join Govt Hospitals and get better treatment for a lesser
cost.
